HUNGER FACTS
It is estimated that one billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. That's roughly 100 times as many as those who actually die from these causes each year. About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes. This is down from 35,000 ten years ago, and 41,000 twenty years ago. Three-fourths of the deaths are children under the age of five.

Famine and wars cause about 10% of hunger deaths, although these tend to be the ones you hear about most often. The majority of hunger deaths are caused by chronic malnutrition. Families facing extreme poverty are simply unable to get enough food to eat.

An overwhelming majority of the under nourished people in developing countries live in Asia and the Pacific. This region is home to 70 percent of the total population of the developing world. And it accounts for almost two-thirds (526 million) of the under nourished people as well. India alone has more under nourished people (204 million) than all of sub-Saharan.
The other side of the story here in Andhra Pradesh. Famine and huger is prevalent very much in villages, towns and cities here. We see many people who are standing in front of the people to beg a morsel of food. It grieves our hearts. There is sufficient food in the world. But yet there is no food for the poor. While we were moving place-to-place we come across with such pathetic scenes.

Most of the old and sick people are seen on the streets begging for the food. Hence we have decided to collect food and rice to distribute to every village as and when the funds are available with the society.

We want to help these people with their required needs. Hence we come to you with an appeal to lend your helping hands to emancipate these suffering people for some extent. In the past we have undertaken several of these programs and helped the lot of villages and towns. Please pray and lend your helping hand in this noble cause.
